Remote finger
With DIY, you use the tools you have at hand to solve the problems you encounter. Often, things are created that look makeshift from a distance, but as long as they solve your problem – it’s good.
Here’s an example – a radio amateur from the USA (probably) made a “remote finger” from a servo, Wemos, and a piece of 3D-printed plastic to restart a device.
Nothing great? Indeed. Not impressive? No. But that’s why we have access to a lot of technologies, to use them ourselves and solve our own problems – that is the essence of DIY. So, create and don’t worry if something looks makeshift from a distance.
